Get NIU Cheerleading to college nationals 2021

“In 2017, NIU cut the cheerleading program from the athletic department. We are now considered a club and we are currently not receiving direct funding from the university. This has left us without money for basic needs or a salary for a coach to keep the program going.


We are fortunate to currently have a volunteer coach and we fund raise every single penny we have for things such as warm us, uniforms, poms, megaphones, signs.. etc. If you ever see us cheering at an away football game it is because the cheer team paid it's own way to get there and cheer for our team.  Travel, hotel, etc. everything comes out of the pockets of the cheerleaders or our coach. We truly believe we are an important part of the Game day atmosphere and this university and need your support to keep the program going. We've placed Top 3 at NCA college nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida for the last two years and hope to bring home a national championship title to Dekalb this coming April!   


We are asking for donations to help keep the program going and offset the cost of what each athlete has to pay to be apart of the team, without more support we do not believe the program will be able to continue.”
