Save Socrates Surgery
SoCrates, my boy, is a 65kg Great Dane cross English Mastiff, and last night, he started coming down with bloat, also known as Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (GDV). Fortunately I'm well paranoid about him getting GDV and so noticed the warning signs early, and rushed him immediately to the emergency vet, after-hours, on the evening of a public holiday, where they immediately stuck a needle in him to get the air out, and performed an Xray, to confirm that his stomach had twisted. I was given two options: one is surgery, and it'll be a minimum of $4000-$6000 for the surgery alone, followed by several days in the ICU, which I will probably have to sell off an arm and a leg for, Fullmetal Alchemist style.
The other option is euthanasia.
Even though he is 11 years old, which is very old for a big breed, he still acts like a young little puppy, and he is full of joy and life. There was no way I could pick the second option.

I hate to have my hand out for help, and have always thought to make it in the world by myself, but this time I got stuff my pride down and ask for help. So if you even donate a single dollar, I am thankful, and if you cant donate, but you can pray, or rub crystals, or do a rain dance, or something, anything that might help, I am grateful.
