Hello Everyone,
This is Tina, Maria, and Rebecca.
From the time we came to this country and started working in nail salons, we have said to each other “One day, we will have our own nail salon. It will be called ‘Sisters” Fifteen years ago, we were all working in other salons. We knew that one day, our hard work would pay off and we would be able to use our creativity to build something beautiful together.
In 2011, our dreams came true. We finally opened our own business - Sister’s Nails. Soon after opening, the business was booming. We were so genuinely happy with the work environment we created for us and our clients. Unfortunately, in 2015, the salon burned down in an unexpected fire. Even worse, our insurance policy expired the same day that the fire occurred, leaving us with absolutely no coverage to rebuild. We had to once again start again from the beginning. We knew our clients needed us, and closing for good wasn’t an option, after all our hard work. After a long six months, we finally found a new building to relocate to. The long, hard wait was completely worthwhile.
The salon started out as just a dream. But now we are terrified that the dream we have worked so hard to make reality will be stripped away from us once again. There is construction happening within our time that is forcing us to leave the building by the end of the year. With the pandemic we were closed for almost four months and still had to pay for the rent, we couldn’t get the small business help, and now we have no money to start again.
We need help. Because of all of the other expenses, we can’t afford another space to recreate the environment that we want. We want to keep doing what we love, but don’t have the resources to do so. Please consider donating anything you can to help us achieve our goal of staying open and bringing happiness to our customers.
