Save Simple Cider - Bring Back Music & Arts Events

As many of you know, Simple Cider’s live events were shut down in December last year. Following this they have been given very tight restrictions of how the can operate the business and are not allowed to host any live music or arts events.

Simple Cider had quickly become the heart of Hobart’s live music venues. They put on for a massive range of scenes, emerging artists and niche gigs. Simple had countless gigs, musical improv nights, social chess, life drawing, comedy, performing arts events and film screenings. It was also a place where many people would drop by to have a drink and catch up with friends.

Venues like Simple Cider are vital for keeping our creative community alive and thriving, without Simple a lot of scenes are very limited to where they can perform. Their dedication to supporting grassroots artists was unwavering and many musicians had their first single or album launch at the venue.

On Sunday 24th of March we are hosting an artist led benefit gig to raise funds towards supporting Simple Cider in restarting live music and arts events. With over 10 hours of music and a silent art auction all from artists who have volunteered their time, it is clear that Simple Cider is an integral part of Hobart’s creative community.

If you can’t make it on Sunday or perhaps you’d like to make an extra donation, we have set up this GoFundMe to help raise as much money for Simple Cider to make the building changes to bring back events to their venue.
