Save Penny's Knee

Donation protected
Penny was a street stray who was picked up and placed in a high-kill shelter in Pico Rivera, California. We can only imagine the autrocites that she expereince in her 3 years, but it didn't dim her spirit! Because of her sweet dispositon, rescuers worked to find a foster home, saving her from death row.  Flirting with Fido, a rescue organization out of Victoria facilitated bringing her up to Canada, and after a long journey she was all smiles, but had a limp when she got out of her kennel. Three weeks and two visits to the Campbell River Hosital later, and this is what we know: she was most likely used for breeding, and then dumped, and her right knee has extensive osteoarthritis, and a torn ACL. The osteo is a result of this ACL being an old injury, and as Dr. Woodward put it, a ticking time bomb. Additionally, her other knee is showing signs of distress and damage, so Penny needs surgery as soon as possible. She is tenatively booked for Sept 8th.

Due to her size and stregnth, the TTA surgery is being recommended. This surgery will fully restore stregnth to her leg, and allow this her to live a happy, healthy life.

When I saw her big groofy smile I knew that she deserved a life of soft beds, healthy food, love and adventure. I want to help this sweet girl, and am humbly asking for any donations to go towards her medical costs, which are estimated to be $3,800.

Thank you in advance!
