Wayiba, Wanthiwa!
We are Traditional Owners and Custodians of Murujuga on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia's Pilbara region. We are joining together to stop new industry on the Burrup from damaging our Songlines, our rock art, our health and our climate. We oppose Woodside's Scarborough gas/Pluto Train 2 development and Perdaman's proposed urea plant.
Our Ngurra at Murujuga is sacred and we want to protect it from companies like Woodside and Perdaman.
We will hold a March on Country at Murujuga on July 10 to bring the community together to demand an end to new industry on the Burrup. We are raising funds for costs, including bus hire, advertising, banners and food.
Funds raised so far have gone to:
- Travel expenses for Custodians to meet with Parliamentarians, Woodside and other key stakeholders.
- Ongoing costs for website hosting, leaflet printing, community meetings, online advertising and other expenses.
