Save Our Equity!

Hello again. This is Margaret Schillinger, wife of Daniel Schillinger, former preaching minister of the Slidell church of Christ.  After much thought and prayer, we have decided to "re-brand" our appeal to reflect accurately what our goal really is.  Succinctly stated, it is:

to save an estimated value of the equity built-up in our house of $15,000 so that we can use these sorely-needed funds to start life anew following Daniel's series of three disabling strokes, which began in May of 2016.

We are striving MIGHTILY to sell our house to collect this equity value. In the meantime, we have to make our mortgage payments. Our mortgage payment is $1,197.00 monthly. But if we have to default on the mortgage, then it is not ours to sell! We need more help with this, starting NOW!

While we live out this nerve-wracking period of our lives, Daniel's physical condition is slowy but steadily improving. His  weight is now down to just above 200 lbs., lower than he has EVER been since I  have known him! (38 years :-) Lower than at any time since he was a Sophomore in High School! He have gone off both his Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure medications. He continues to eat real clean (the Ketogenic Diet) and to fast regularly. We monitor both  his blood glucose and blood pressure readings daily. He is now only about 30 lbs. from his ideal weight. At the rate he is going, he should achieve it sometime this year. He has graduated from physical therapy, as he had earlier graduated from speech therapy. This leaves one to go: occupational therapy, for his right hand and arm. He has made some progress even there. His arm is more flexible and loose that used to be, and his hand is about 50% restored. With his hand there’s still some stiffness, and he still cannot write or use the keyboard with it yet.  And, his balance for walking is still somewhat impaired, though improving.

We have not found a buyer yet for our house. Yet the house buying season is upon us! Just when the money has run out. Our new realtor is supposed to be a real go-getter, and she IS actively doing what she can to improve our position as a seller.  She has already had several showings. But it all takes TIME! We could get an offer anytime now. There are fewer houses on the market then we first put it up for sale. So we should sell the house this Spring.  So once again, we must ask any of you whose heart is touched by our situation to give whatever amount you are able to, small or large. Again, we stand to lose about $15,000 equity if we let the house go. That is money we DESPERATELY need to begin our new life!
