Save Oh là là, Charlotte ! Patisserie

Dear friends, dear customers,

Since December 2018, I’ve dedicated myself fully to one mission: offering you the very best I can when it comes to baking cakes and pastries. Every recipe, every cake, every detail has been made with passion, patience, and love.

For 6 years now, I haven’t taken a single holiday. I’ve been working a minimum of 72 hours a week – alone – doing everything myself: baking (and baking again!), creating new recipes (including vegan ones), answering emails, handling the website, managing customer service, branding, admin, social media… and biking 40km every single day to make it all happen.

I’ve reached a point where I simply can’t go on like this. I’ve tried everything I could to keep Oh là là Charlotte! alive, but I’ve also come to understand that effort should lead to something sustainable. The truth is: I still can’t afford to pay anyone to help. I don’t have enough time or space to host interns. And most of my sales – 95% – are online, because I’m based in an industrial area with very little foot traffic. I almost never fill my display cases because I hate throwing food away.

Meanwhile, the cost of living keeps rising. And despite working this much, I still can’t afford my own place to live – not even a small studio. There was a time when I had a big house and worked in a completely different field. But life changes. And sometimes, maybe it’s time to let go.

So here it is, with a heavy heart: I’m considering closing Oh là là Charlotte! by the end of August.

But — it’s not official yet. Deep inside, I’d still like to try and save this bakery.

I just can’t do it alone anymore. I need help.

That’s why I’m launching a crowdfunding campaign.

Every single contribution will help me breathe a little, reorganize production, and maybe keep this dream going.
