Please help us save our staff!
We are Maison Thai, a restaurant in New York City.
In 2018, our original founder and manager just took off, and left us with a mountain of debt and unpaid bills. Most importantly, over $150,000 in unpaid sales tax.
Since then, many of our staff members have helped out selflessly by working for less or no money, in order to save the restaurant and their jobs. They believed in us and hoped, of course, that one day the restaurant would be debt free and profitable, and they would get paid properly.
Now the coronavirus has forced us to remain mostly closed for the time being. Without revenue, we have fallen behind on all payments, and the future of Maison Thai is uncertain. We don't know if and when we can re-open for business.
This campaign doesn't cover everything we owe to our staff. But we don't want to leave them with nothing at all.
