Not only that but you wonderful lot have smashed through it and we are counting down the days until we have baking again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your phenomenal generosity means we are back doing what we love and we hope our thanks will be felt in each and every loaf that we will bake over the coming weeks, months and years. 

We started Hylsten with the desire to provide, delicious, nutritious and sustainably made bread to our local community. That that community has well and truly saved us when we needed it most is something very special indeed.  




In the week before Christmas 2021, the lovely people at Hylsten were left devastated, when a fire broke out in their bakery. There was what seemed like repairable damage to the oven and a large amount of soot damage to the unit; when they started to clean what they knew would be a huge operation, more damage was discovered to the oven. Then the final blow came when the insurers refused to pay out.

This is where we all come in as a community and lovers of their amazing bread, We want to save the bakery and the team back to doing what they love & do so well.

 

Can you help us to save our beloved bakery?

 

What they need the money for;

New oven: £21,500

Wages to retain Staff: £3000

Repainting: £1000

Bannetons and other equipment £2500

 

What Hylsten want to do to say thank you;

If the 'Go-Fund-me' appeal is successful, Hylsten Bakery will throw a party in the summer to say a huge thank you to the community for the amazing support in getting the bakery back up and running again.

They would also like to commit to investing some of their end-of-year profit back into the community to say thank you.
