Hi dear friends! Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to read our campaign! We truly appreciate your time and support.
WHO ARE WE?
We've started this campaign to save Green Point, our plant based restaurant in Cusco, Peru. The restaurant has just passed its 7 year anniversary, and those of you who have seen us grow over those 7 years know how much hard work, love and energy has been poured into it. Right up until the last day we opened on the 15th March 2020, we had a full house. It's become a much loved spot in Cusco, known for its amazing food, high quality service, beautiful decoration and modern yet cosy atmosphere.
WHY WE NEED HELP
Unfortunately, the full lockdown in Peru began on 16th March, and is currently planned to end on 30th June making a total of 3.5 months. The government reactivation plans are still unclear, and Green Point will be depending not only on the reactivation of restaurants but also on the opening of borders because most of our customers are travellers. There has been little relief for small business owners here in Peru, and in the best case scenario we are expecting to reopen in March 2021. We are doing everything we can to keep the business afloat during this time and we wouldn’t be reaching out in this way unless it was absolutely necessary, which it now is.
OUR VISION
Green Point is much more than a personal project or business. Our vision is to create equality for all beings. As we move away from animal based products, we improve human health, avoid unnecessary animal suffering, reduce environmental damage and reduce world hunger. As many of you can testify, we serve high quality delicious food, and have transformed thousands of people's perspective of vegan food, contributing enormously to the global movement towards equality for all beings. For all these reasons, we can’t let the current situation detain this vision!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We are asking for financial support from anybody who is in a place to do so. Your donations will be going towards all expenses related to keeping us afloat until we are able to open again, and reopening costs. All our spaces are rented and we are still paying rent, we have an animal rescue centre where we are looking after many dogs, pigs and sheep, we are trying to support some of our employees through this time who were dependent on us, and we have bills and administrative costs that are both accumulated and ongoing. The costs involved with the reopening are paperwork, special equipment and uniforms, implementation of new protocols, and many other government mandated requisites.
We know this is not an easy time for anyone, but if you can help out with any contribution large or small it would be a huge help to us. For any contribution we would be delighted to share a meal or a beer with you (on us!) once we reopen. Let's make sure we are able to share that meal with you next year as part of the Green Point family!
