Save Fleetwood Baths

Fleetwood swimming baths is in need of funding to stay open - Talks are in place with local councils to continue with funding this well needed venue however, this may not happen in the near future and feel it's a well worthy cause to part fund ourselves to at least keep it open, other wise once it's shut it'll probably stay shut.

I'm a born and bred 'Cod Head' I swam at Fleetwood swimming club years ago when I was a young lad and was pretty good especially in life saving however, my two sisters both went on to represent England & GB in swimming both doing very well for their country.  Later my eldest sister was chosen for the Olympic & Common wealth games. Without the dedication of all the hard working trainers who committed all their spare time to teaching the young kids to swim years ago, this wouldn't have been possible - I know from watching my sisters about the blood sweat and tears it takes to make it in swimming and for that on a personal note this place needs to be saved. Many other friends and colleagues who attended the Fleetwood swimming club around the same time also went on to achieve tremendous goals through their swimming ability - even bringing home Olympic medals to our little home town -  I'm not doing this for me, I just think it's worth saving for the  past effort of our youth and hopefully this will help inspire some of our youngsters today - Some things aren't worth saving - THIS IS, It's  part of our towns history now and it would be a shame to see it go.
