Save Diaz Family Farm + End Hunger
Donation protected
Hunger is an epidemic in Oregon, with one in five people going to bed hungry (www.OregonFoodbank.org).
Since mid 2007, we had been raising lots of animal products on our one acre homestead and growing fir timber on the other 18 acres of our property.
Because of a work related disability, we had lots of time for self reflection, and we decided that we could do much more with our property to help support both ourselves and the Willamette Valley. By expanding our permaculture practices throughout our entire property, we could farm in abundance, and have more than enough firewood and food to share. So, we poured the bulk of our savings into our family farm expansion efforts...to get production going as soon as we could.
Our goal is to responsibly raise and grow lots of fresh foods (meats and vegetables) as well as to grow and gather lots of firewood, and donate the bulk of our bounty to the many foodbanks throughout the Willamette Valley.
We want to help warm homes and end hunger in Oregon.
However, due to unforseen circumstances of additional injuries from a hit-and-run assault in October of 2016, and almost simultaneously an unexpected pause in our income in July of 2017, we find ourselves in urgent need of support ourselves.
Please help us through this rough patch so that we don't lose our farm, and so we can see our expansion plans flourish, and our community with it.
We appreciate your patronage, donations, help, and support.
Please know that even the smallest donation is helpful and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Esteban Diaz and family
