Save Coconut's Life!

Coconuts needs emergency medical care for a sudden illness.  Coconut is a sweet 3 year old cat from Thailand.  She was viciously hit in her head causing her eyes to bulge from their sockets.  By the time someone found her and took her to the Soi Dog Foundation for help, the tissue in and around her eyes had begun to rot. They had to remove her eyes to save her life.  I adopted her and she was flown into NYC on May 4, 2016.  She has been here in the USA with my daughter and myself since.  After everything she went through in her native country, she was enjoying her life being spoiled until recently when she became so seriously ill.  She needs IV medications and a feeding tube to survive.  Her Veterinarian has diagnosed her with a liver disease. She says this can be a result of her not eating due to a cold or a number of other possibilities.  We are trying to treat her at home using as many of the medications as we can afford right now.  She is on 5 different medications including steroids, antibiotics and an appetite stimulant.  They took blood and I will post the results as soon as possible.  The results confirmed the doctor's initial fears and they, once again stressed the need for hospitalization with a feeding tube. She does not seem to be responding as well as we hoped to the treatment at home.  We have to force her to eat and stress her further by medicating twice daily.

We were afraid to leave her in the hospital because of her blindness.  She would not know any of the sounds or smells. She wouldn't know most of the people trying to care for her. She would most certainly be in a constant state of fear & stress. How could this help her? But we have no choice now, if we want to save her, and we do want to save her. We need to save her.

Her illness has progressed and we fear permanent liver damage or worse, losing her.  She is a young cat and has been to hell and back. She deserves to live.  Her doctor feels hospitalization is her only real chance and that, given the medical attention she so desperately needs, can make a full recovery. She can live a normal, long healthy life but we have to stop the damage threatening her liver and her life NOW.

No one adopts a pet expecting this kind of major illness. Especially while the pet is still so young and otherwise healthy.  We promised Coconut a better life. A happy life. A healthy life. She deserves to live many years being treated like the Thai Princess she is.

If we had the funds, she would have been in the hospital getting the care she needs. I don't qualify for Care Credit and the doctor's wont permit a payment schedule.  Coconut shouldn't have to pay the ultimate price for our lack of a better income.

Anyone who wants to help Coconut but would prefer to pay the veterinarian's office directly can do so.  The practice is: The Cat Hospital Of Media, located at 422 East Baltimore Avenue, Media PA 19063. The phone number is [phone redacted]. Please make sure to note your donation is for Coconut, the blind Thai Princess.

I am hoping if we raise at least half the money, her doctor's will admit her and start her care.

I am willing to pay back every cent donated to save our little white fluff ball. I will send anyone who asks a small amount every month until it is paid back in full.  But Coconut needs help now.
