Save Bury's Greenbelt
Bury Folk Keep It Green (BFKIG) is fundraising to protect the greenbelt land in the Borough of Bury. Bury Council intend to release greenbelt land for development of approx. 9,500 houses, plus warehousing across the Borough.
They are using out of date information to base their plans on and intend to destroy significant areas of countryside and sites of scientific importance by building roads and unaffordable houses. BFKIG have evidence that the planned houses could be built on brownfield land yet the council refuse to acknowledge this. We now need funds to support our fight through the courts and to publicise our campaign further.
Every resident in the Borough will benefit from preventing the destruction of our greenbelt. We use these spaces for our leisure time. We breathe the clean air they provide. We need these spaces for our well being and for that of the wildlife and rare plants we share these spaces with.
Please support our campaign so that we can fight for the people of Bury and retain the green spaces in our Borough for current and future generations.
Thank you
