Save an Afghan Girl and her family from serious danger

Hi. My name is Sue and I am raising funds for a brave 17-year-old Afghan girl whom I met through a global peace project: Peace on Earth by 2030. Her life has been shaped by war, loss and unimaginable hardship and she now finds herself in a life-threatening situation along with her sister, niece and nephew. She has dedicated her life to educational rights for women and despite extreme dangers has secretly worked to teach literacy to women and girls in Afghanistan. These activities have now been exposed so she is facing serious threats from the Taliban.

Secondly, her family belongs to the Hazara community and follows the Shia faith which has also placed them in constant danger under Taliban rule, especially as her father has passed away and her brother has lost his job because he worked for the previous regime.

Thirdly, the Taliban and others are trying to force her sister into marriage under the pretext of protection- robbing her of any rights or future.

She has managed to escape to Quetta in Pakistan with her

family members, where they are living in a dark cramped room, just about surviving, but this is still not a safe place as every day they live in fear of deportation back to Afghanistan where they face possible imprisonment and/or enforced marriage.

The purpose of this fund raising is to cover the cost of their visa renewal which is due in mid-May. They barely have enough money for day-to-day expenses let alone for the extra cost of visas.

Ultimately, they are looking for a chance to emigrate to a country of safety.
