Also I wanted to clarify an update about financial donations. I am supposed to collect the money and give it to my team leader who will turn it all in to Hope of Life. Any check written to Hope of Life is a tax deductible donation. If you write the check to Hope of Life, please include Savana Hoover/EVAC in the memo line so I will receive the donation. You can still send your check to my home address and I will turn all the money in at once. This summer I have an opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala for ten days with some of my friends from East Valley Athletes for Christ and their families. We will be going to partner with Hope of Life International in their efforts to share the Gospel and show the love of Christ to the people of Guatemala. I would love to go on this mission trip because I really feel God has called me to the Spanish Speaking Community. Specifically, I have a desire to be a teacher in a Spanish Speaking Community. For the past two years I have participated in short term mission trips to Mexico. During my first trip, I realized the language barrier made communicating difficult, so the last 4 semesters I have been taking Spanish Classes to learn the language. I am looking forward to being immersed in the culture and allowing God to use me to help others know Jesus more intimately! Our areas of ministry will include:
Loving on the children at the hospital, orphanage and special need’s home as well as the elderly
Reaching out to various villages to distribute food, shoes and clothing and share the love of Jesus
Feeding the people who live at the garbage dump
Vacation Bible School activities in the local villages
Construction help at the Hope of Life campus
I feel blessed to be a part of this opportunity to serve and share the love of Jesus and I would like to ask you to join me in ministry. I would love your support in prayers and finances for this mission trip. First, please pray that God would use us to touch the lives of the people in Guatemala. Also pray for the protection upon our team and team unity as we serve together. Pray for the people of Guatemala, the poorest country in Central America, that they will find Christ. Finally, pray that I will be able to raise the finances I need for this trip. I need to raise $2,000 by April 30th. In addition to your prayers, would you consider offering me financial support?
