Saugus Marching Centurions Road to Washington

Saugus Marching Centurions have faced more than their share of uncertainty and adversity. Now they are facing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
- 2018 Missed championships due to wildfires.
- 2019 Staff and students experienced a devastating school shooting.
- 2020 Like the rest of the world, the band was impacted by the pandemic. The school announced closure and cancelation of all events exactly the day they were going to perform for the first time after the 2 previous tragedies.
- 2021 Beloved band director resigns (their third in five years).
These kids have shown resilience and determination. In fall 2021, led by their 4th band director in six years, they made it to Championships since 2016 placing them in the top 6 of Southern California. After that performance, they received an invitation to perform in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C. and they are determined to go but need support to cover such an expensive trip so that all the almost 100 members of the band can attend.
