My parents are the most incredible people ever. They got out of Hurricane Harvey before things got too bad and are safe, but their home and rental homes are severely damaged. My parents are also some of the most selfless people I've ever met. They do not want you to donate money to them to help them; they want you to donate water to help others in crisis, donate to their church to help rebuild, or donate to other organizations in teh community. They also still have two homes that will require mortgage payments while they are busy helping other people clean their homes and dealing with the loss of all of their possessions.

I would love to be able to give my parents a small amount of money so that they don't have to worry about their mortgage and buy the everyday necessities that they currently lack. I can gurantee you that every penny that my parents receive after they pay their bills and buy necessities will go back to helping other familites in the community they live in and to help rebuilding their church. That's the type of people my parents are and have always been.

I hesistated to go with GoFundMe because they do charge a small processing fee, but this is an easy way for people to donate. Money donated will be deposited directly to them. If you'd prefer to contact me directly, you can send me an e-mail at [email redacted] and I can get them whatever donations yo're comfortable with to them in another way.

Lastly, if you are financially unable to donate, please don't fret. My parents have first and foremost asked for prayers for the community they live in and to celebrate that they are safe. Sending positive thoughts and prayers are as appreicated as money. If you are only able to donate $5, know that amount of money will be well used.
