SARITA GELLMAN’S STROKE RECOVERY
Donation protected
On Thursday, January 18, 2018, our dear friend Sarita Gellman suffered a serious stroke that has left her so far unable to speak and walk. She was thankfully able to call her closest friend Micki Beerman for help. When Micki arrived at Sarita’s home, she found her on the floor collapsed. Sarita was taken to the Coney Island Hospital. On 1/24/18 Sartita was transferred to Bellevue Hospital due to cardiac complications.
You can tell a little bit about Sarita since her first concern was for her 10-year old Labrador Retriever, Graham, who is temporarily being cared for by friends. Sarita began her involvement with Labradors with her first girl “Shasta” in 1985. For many years, Sarita has been a perennial fixture at Mid-Jersey Labrador Retriever Club. At other Labrador events she is always pitching in and volunteered her time. Anyone who knows Sarita can attest to the fact that her warmth and caring nature is just a part of what has made her a beloved part of our Labrador community.
As you can imagine, Sarita will have a long road ahead of her to recover. To complicate things, and unfortunately make matters worse, she does not have health insurance, and has limited family support since her husband Ray who was with the FDNY, passed away in 2003.
And now of course, Sarita cannot return to her job so she will lose her regular income. Sarita would never ask for help, but we are asking friends, family and the Labrador community to help her given the magnitude of her circumstances. The donations from this GoFund Me account will go to pay for medical bills and living expenses until she can get back on her feet. No donation is too small, and all donations received will go to a special needs trust for Sarita. Checks can also be sent to: “Sarita Gellman Special Needs Trust” c/o Kristine Bergman, Esq., Ansell Grimm & Aaron, PC - CN 7807 Ocean, NJ. 07712
Thank you in advance for your prayers, love and support... Friends of Sarita.
