Help a Colombian Fine Arts Student!

HELP A COLOMBIAN FINE ARTS STUDENT!

Hi everyone!
My name is Sara Pizarro and I am an artist who is in need of help right now!

I'm from Colombia, and I came to the United States looking for new opportunities. After being an Au Pair and falling in love with Boston, I applied to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University and I was granted the biggest scholarship available, the Presidential Scholarship. Even though it's the biggest, this only covers 50% of my tuition and I'm still responsible for the other half.

I love being in school, and I make it count. In one year I have been: 

⦁ Granted the Presidential Scholarship.
⦁ Selected to auction my art at the Medal Award Gala in of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston alongside James Turrel. (Bought by the Former Marketing Director of Emerging Technologies at Gillette/wife of the President of Capital One Bank).
⦁ Hired by Tufts to paint murals inside various school centers and painted murals inside SMFA as well.
⦁ Hired by SMFA to design products for them, including shirts, signage, and yoga mats.
⦁ Participating in competitions like the Springborn Scholarship, the Dean’s Research Award, the Summer Scholars Research Project, etc.
⦁ Selected for the Senior Thesis Program.
⦁ Selected to exhibit my artwork in the Dean’s office at SMFA.
⦁ Keeping a constant GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Finding this money is not easy for anyone, but it's especially difficult for international students. I have always been hardworking, and I thought that I would be able to pay for school via working while studying. But the reality has been different. The working restrictions of my visa haven't allowed me to find the money to finish my degree. I can only work inside the school, for $11 an hour, for a maximum of 20 hours a week.

This  means I am only allowed to earn around $700 per month, and almost half of it (43%) is spent on transportation to and from school. The rest is spent on paying a school loan back, some food, and art supplies. I am an artist who was able to make money in Colombia with my art, and, now that I am in America, I am not allowed to use that as a means to make money (even though that's what I am going to school
for).

I have spent months figuring out how I'm going to pay for my last year of school. I reached out to everyone that I thought might be helpful:

I've tried to find solutions to my problem within the legal bounderies presented to me, but after all of that, I still haven't found a way of making this happen. 

Now, the school gave me an ultimatum, saying that my last opportunity of paying my semester tuition, $11,905, is October 2nd, 2017. If I don't have the money for that date, I will be sent back to Colombia two
weeks from then, still owing the whole amount. My school year costs around $25,000, which is what I need to finish my degree. 

Please help me fund my carreer. This is really important to me. If you donate I will be forever thankful. If you can’t donate and you’d still like to help, share it with your friends and family. Any help goes a long way at this moment in my life.

AYUDA A UNA COLOMBIANA, ESTUDIANTE DE BELLAS ARTES!

Mi nombre es Sara Pizarro y soy una artista que necesita de tu ayuda en este momento!

Soy de Colombia y vine a los Estados Unidos buscando nuevas oportunidades. Después de haber sido Au Pair y enamorarme de Boston, apliqué a la Escuela del Museo de Bellas Artes (SMFA) en Tufts University, y me otorgaron la beca más alta que ofrecen, la Beca
Presidencial. Aunque es la beca más alta, esto cubre solamente el 50% de mi pago universitario y yo soy responsable de la otra mitad.

Me encanta poder estar en la universidad, y hago que mi tiempo allí valga la pena. En el año en el que he estado aqui:

⦁ Fuí otorgada la Beca Presidencial
⦁ Fuí seleccionada para subastar mi arte en la Noche de Gala del Premio Medalla, adentro del Museo de Bellas Artes en Boston, al lado del artista James Turrel. (Mi arte fué comprado por la Directora de Mercadeo de Tecnologías Emergenter de Gillete, esposa del Presidente del Banco Capital One)
⦁ He sido contratada por Tufts para pintar murales alrededor de varios centros de la Universidad.
⦁ He sido contratada por el SMFA para diseño de productos, incluyendo camisetas, señalización, y mats de yoga.
⦁ He participado en concursos y programas de investigación de arte
⦁ Fuí seleccionada para participar en un programa especial para estudiantes del último año en donde estoy creando mi tésis.
⦁ Fuí seleccionada para exhibir mi arte en la oficina de la Directora del SMFA 
⦁ He mantenido un promedio de 3.5 sobre 4.0 durante mi carrera.

Encontrar esta cantidad de plata no es fácil para nadie, pero es especialmente dificil para los estudiantes internacionales. Siempre he sido una persona trabajadora y pensé que iba a poder trabajar más
mientras estudiaba y así conseguir la plata para mis estudios. Pero la realidad ha sido diferente. Las restricciones de trabajo de mi visa no me han permitido recoger la plata para terminar mi carrera. Solo puedo
trabajar adentro de la universidad, por un máximo de 20 horas a la semana por $11 dolares la hora.

Esto significa que solo me permiten ganarme al rededor de $700 dolares mensuales, y casí la mitad de esto (43%) se va en costos de transporte yendo y viniendo de la Universidad. El resto de va en pagar una deuda universitaria, algo de comida, y materiales de arte. Soy una artista que podía ganar plata en Colombia con mi arte, y ahora que estoy en los Estados Unidos no tengo permitido ni siquiera usar mi arte como un medio para ganar dinero, aún cuando esto es lo que estudio.

He estado buscando la manera de encontrar cómo pagar por mi último año de universidad por meses. He hablado con todo aquel que creo que puede ser de ayuda:

He intentado buscar una solución a mi problema por todos los medios legales, pero despúes de todo esto, aún no he encontrado la manera de hacer esto posible.

Ahora, la universidad me acaba de dar un ultimatum, diciendo que mi última oportunidad de pagar mi cuota de este semestre, $11,905 USD, es el 2 de Octubre, 2017. Si no consigo el dinero para entonces, me toca
devolverme a Colombia en dos semanas desde esa fecha, aún debiendo la cantidad completa. La totalidad de mi año en la universidad me cuesta alrededor de $25,000 USD, que es la cantidad que necesito para
terminar mis estudios.

Por favor ayúdame a financiar mi carrera. Esto es muy importante para mi. Si donas, estaré por siempre agradecida. Si no puedes donar, pero quisieras ayudarme, compártelo con sus amigos y familiares. Cualquier ayuda viene bien en este momento de mi vida.
