Sarah’s Medical (Etc.) Expenses

After a few weeks of being sick with what we
believed to be the flu, my Mom ended up in the
Emergency Room on Super Bowl Sunday.

After many tests and scans, we were informed that my Mom did not have the flu but she did have
something much more serious. By the end of her 2 week hospital stay, she had undergone numerous CT scan, Brain Scans, MRIs (etc) and it was determined that she had cancer.

Stage 4 High Grade Neuroendocrine Metastatic
Cancer, Secondary to Small Cell Lung Carcinoma. 
Her timeline is about 16 months, as
long as she follows through with the aggressive
immunotherapy/radiation every 21 days as
planned. Without the aggressive approach, her
Oncologist put her timeline at several weeks. We are going to stay positive, hopeful, and optimistic. 

This news isn’t something any human is expecting, especially not regarding their 48 year old Mother. My sister and I are trying to remain hopeful.
