Sarah's Art Education trip to India

I began my time at Miami knowing I wanted to study abroad, after hearing about this program I knew it would be the perfect one for me. Discovering more of who I am has pushed me to realize that I want to go to India, to learn about the culture, art, people and country itself.

This program encompasses both my major in Art Education with the study of visual and physical arts, such as ceramics, and my minor of Fashion Design studying textiles. Learning about these in another country will have a profound impact on my work. This trip is also very close to my heart personally. I have recently been exploring the Buddhist spirituality. The beliefs, practices and teachings of the religion have sparked a longing for a deeper understanding of Buddhism.

I want this program to teach me to be a more worldly citizen and teacher. My hope is to make this trip one that will impact not only me but my family, friends and future students. I know that I will return a better person, student and teacher. I will take the experiences I have into my future art classroom and use them throughout my life. This trip will be hard to manage without your help, anything you can contribute will be graciously and gratefully accepted.
