Sarah O’Connor Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Sarah O’Connor and her son, Brandon O’Connor, were involved in a head-on collision on 8/26. Sarah was driving a Chevy Cruise and the other driver was in a pickup truck. Both Brandon and Sarah were transported to the hospital.
Brandon (11) was transported to Children’s Hospital. He has intestinal damage and had to have part of his intestine removed. He also has a fractured collar bone and ankle, and a partially collapsed lung.
Sarah (39) is in ICU. She had a severed iliac artery in her pelvis. It clotted and formed a very large hematoma and was blocking all circulation to her left leg. She underwent vascular surgery and they placed a stent in the artery, but it failed. She has now lost her left leg from the knee down. Due to no circulation, there was no other option.
She also suffered a severe abdominal/pelvic crush injury. She has undergone two surgeries on her abdomen and will be undergoing another. Part of her intestines were severed and had died. Those were removed. Since she had a ruptured bowel they are dealing with sepsis. They had to leave her stomach open, so they can go back in and assess if anymore bowel needs removed. She currently has a colostomy bag.
Her kidneys and other organs are starting to fail due to her body's sepsis response. She has undergone several rounds of dialysis. She is very, very sick. She has a 50/50 chance at this point.
If you can, please help my sister's family with medical bills and other related expenses. Sarah does not have health insurance, and even with a successful recovery she will still be out of work for a long time. Her husband has been taking off work to be with Sarah and their son during this time. They have 4 other children to care for.
If you cannot help financially, please help with prayers. But, even the smallest donation helps. Thank you.
