10k for Mom

Hi friends,
As some of you know, 21 years ago this year, I lost my mom to ovarian cancer. Among other things, my mom was a wonderful kindergarden teacher, loved to laugh, and drank (gasp!) white zinfindel. She introduced me to awesome things like almond croissants, Dunkin Donuts chocolate glazed donuts, Grease, West Side Story, and Shel Silverstein. She was a pretty great lady.
Each year, my family gives a scholarship to a graduating student from my high school who plans to pursue a career in early childhood education. While I'm not much a runner (that's more of my brother's department), this year I decided I was up for a challenge. So on October 26th, I'm running the Marine Corps 10k in DC to raise money for my mom's scholarship fund.
I hope you'll consider making a donation today --$10, $25, or even $100 -- to help me meet my $2,000 goal!
