Sara Estrella Fire Recovery Support

On the morning of Jan 2, 2018, Sara Estrella and her daughter evacuated their burning Bronx apartment building. The 7-alarm fire tore through the building, and it took the FDNY nearly 8 hours to put the fire out in the frigid cold weather.

We are thankful that Sara and her daughter are safe and uninjured, but they lost their home and all of their material belongings. Sara will basically have to start from scratch as she works to find another apartment to rent and furnish it.

We are collecting funds to support Sara's emergency needs and rebuilding costs--temporary shelter, clothes, food, toiletries, and other essentials. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated.

Here is the news article which describes what happened: NY Daily News Report

(Disclosure required for the gofundme.com site's campaign authentication: I, Claire Donnelly, am a co-worker of Sara at Enterprise Community. I will deliver the funds to Sara either via a wire to her personal bank account  or via a personal check on or before Tuesday, 1/9/2018. Please note that this fundraising campaign is the result of a collaborative effort of a group of Sara's individual friends and colleagues, not on behalf of Enterprise Community.)
