Sapphires fight with childhood cancer

Donation protected

Hello and Thankyou for visiting our page!

My name is Lauren and I created this GoFund Me page to raise funds for my best friend Jasmine whose little girl Sapphire was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia through 90% of her blood earlier this year.
Sapphire prior to her diagnosis was a "normal" little girl, counting down to her 3rd birthday. She had no symptoms, and has never really even been "sick". She was a textbook baby, was breastfed, never had any troubles outside of the ordinary. She walked early, talked early and has never had any delays!
On the weekend leading up to her 3rd birthday in the beginning of April, she had high temps and was not feeling the best so Jasmine took Sapphire took the local ED.
They sent her home and said she seemed fine and just to monitor her. On Monday the 1st of April everything changed. The doctors had ran regular blood tests, expecting a minor sickness but were soon confronted with Sapphires results.
The blood tests came back with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia through 90% of her blood. Finding it hard to believe with such a healthy little girl with no prior symptoms, the doctors ran more blood tests and it was in fact the truth.
The next day on Tuesday the 2nd of April was supposed to be a special day for Sapphires 3rd birthday. But instead she was flown to Sydney admitted to the children's cancer ward and given her first dose of chemo therapy.
This has been a very hard time for the little family. Sapphires little sister Hazel who is currently 21 months spent the majority of last year in an out of hospital with childhood Epilepsy. Jasmine is a 2nd year Social Work student and has had to drop out of her studies to make it possible to get to all of the hospital appointments.
Sapphire has had her first round of Chemo and is expected to have a 2 year treatment time.
On top of this, Sapphires leukaemia has spread to her brain and spinal fluid, which affects only 5% of patients and means she has to have 6 weeks of daily cranial radiation.
Not only the reality of Hospital becoming their second home, Sapphire is now immune compromised so even once they return to their country town between chemo treatments she cannot go back to daycare, or play with friends at the playground.
Their whole world has been turned upside down, and Jasmine has had to make many life changes to accomodate having firstly - last year a special needs child, and now this year a terminally ill child.
I created this page to try and reach out to the community to come together and hopefully raise some funds for this little family and release some financial pressure, as their are many hidden costs behind the scenes.
All donations are appreciated and won't go unnoticed. Every single dollar counts.
And from the bottom of our hearts, Thankyou for getting to the bottom of the story and for your donation.

I will try to update the page regularly, Thankyou.

before Chemo as a happy healthy regular little girl.
