Donation protected
During the 2023 Brazilian Carnival holiday weekend, 18th of February a record-breaking catastrophic rainfall reaching 682 mm (26.9 in) in 24 hours in which was caused deadly floods and landslides across São Sebastião. Many lost their lives, dozens are still missing, and many houses collapsed in São Sebastião after torrential rain brought flooding and landslides to coastal areas.
São Sebastião is my hometown, where my heart lies and where my family lives. Luckily my family, although stranded, are safe. Sadly, this is not the case for so many people of São Sebastião who have lost their homes, their businesses and for some, their loved ones.
We are are devastated by this disaster! I was lucky enough to visit my beautiful home just last year. I was welcomed back with open arms and humbled by the love and kindness my family and the Brazilian people of my home town exuberated. São Sebastião needs our help as their people needs water, food, and bed for those affected by the Natural disaster.
