SAVE Santurce POP

SANTURCE POP was created as a vehicle for young entrepreneurs and designers to start their small business.

HURRICANE MARIA:
Puerto Rico was already affected by Hurricane Irma and a deteriorating economy creating an exodus of talent.

SANTURCE POP is not an exception, we have been directly affected by the migration of many of our participants. The goal is to try to stay open and provide a free space for at least a month while things normalize.

Maintaining our goal as a launching pad for new businesses while creating a new space for transitory businesses  that have been affected by the aftermath of HURRICANE MARIA and would like to maintain their business open.

After the path of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico 90 percent of small businesses have been damaged and will continue to be without power for months.

Small businesses are a significant part of the recovery, as they account for 80 percent of all private sector workers.

The operations of SANTURCE POP will directly impact the livelihood of our current participants (14 small businesses) and the small business owners that have a need to maintain their business open and cannot due to the aftermath of HURRICANE MARIA.

ABOUT US:
Santurce POP , established in December 2015, has a mission to revive the urban areas of Puerto Rico while facilitating the development of creative small businesses.

Offering  low rent (starting at $250 per month) in a community-based retail space that is continually changing, innovating and growing.

Our ensemble of creative and alternative shops are
businesses that are facing the financial obstacle of
setting up shop in an independent location.

Now more than ever we must open our doors and maintain our low rents to the small business owners and start-ups in Puerto Rico.

FUNDS:
Santurce POP will use the funds to maintain its low to no rent while the economy stabilizes bettering our damaged infrastructure and expanding to a third floor to make room for additional businesses.

SUCCESS STORIES:
Chroma
now a boutique located in one of San Juan's premier shopping centers.

El NIDO funded by local brand Picalo, established a local design store and eatery in the heart of Bayamon.
