OUR STORY: We are the Naval Science Instructors at Santa Fe HS NJROTC in Santa Fe, NM and we would like to tell you a little something about our amazing students. The cadets who make up our competitive teams practice before and after school 5 days a week as well as many weekends. To date they have participated in twelve competitions to include military drill, color guard, academics, physical fitness and air rifle. With each competition, these cadets are just getting better and better. They have literally left their blood, sweat and tears on the drill deck, running track or rifle range.
As a result of their heart and soul performances, the Air Rifle team is the 2018 Navy National Champions and the 2018 All Service National Champions. The NJROTC competitive team as a whole has dominated the competition circuit this year, taking 2nd place at the first meet and winning the subsequent eleven and they are currently working tirelessly toward winning the NM JROTC State Championship for the third year in a row (April 7, 2018).
NJROTC never sleeps and competition is not our only focus. We have several cadet centered summer activities on our horizon to include Basic Leadership Training in El Paso, Sail Academy, Leadership & Stem Camp, Adventure Race in Colorado and Drill Camp.
All of these events require cadet participation fees from $25 - $100 and many require transportation, food and lodging. These camps are crucial in providing more experience and training for our cadets to assist them with not only being successful in NJROTC but in life.
We are also responsible for procuring most of our color guard, drill and air rifle equipment and this equipment does not come cheap. The cadets do participate in fundraising as much as possible but it is tough in an already saturated market.
WE NEED YOUR HELP: Looking ahead to the summer activities and the 2018/2019 school year, we need to raise $25,000 to allow us to continue to provide our cadets with once in a life time camps, continue to cover travel expenses for competitions as well as provide the best quality of competition equipment to our teams.
