Sanly Ngui's Fighting Cancer!
Sanly is my dear wife (39yrs) and mother of two lovely boys - Bryan (7yrs) & Brandon (10yrs).
She has been active with education as a private tutor for 15 years and is loved by many.
On Feb 21 2012 our family was hit with a blow that we never thought
could have happen to our family. My wife was Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) 急性淋巴胚細胞血癌 and she is is still bravely battling the cancer.
It
all started in late January 2012, she was diagnose with extreme low
haemoglobin 紅血球 at 4.9 g/dL instead of 11.5 and immediately admitted for
blood transfusion. The doctors Initially suspect Severe Anemia after
completed CT Scan, Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy,
All Blood test. Unfortunately, 2 weeks later her hemoglobin continue to
drop and after 12 pints of blood transfusion, there were no signs of
improvement. So doctor had her immediately transfer to a hospital
in another city for bone marrow examination by a Haematologist 血液專科. A
week later the lab results confirmed she was positive for Leukaemia and
immediately admitted for Chemotherapy treatment 藥物化療, due to her type of
Leukaemia develops very rapidly.
Even though Sanly and I live in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, but there
were no leukamia treatment available other than Kuala Lumpur, Selangor.
So Sanly reside in Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital (APSH) in Ampang,
Kuala Lumpar to seek
treatment from the Haematologist 血液專科 available in this Hospital.
Since we are currently stationed between Seremban & Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and she is now facing an even larger challenge ~ the initial cancer treatments has max her insurance limit and concern with the remaining cycles of treatments in the next months. She has thankfully been surrounded by me, family, friends and her children, Brandon & Bryan, who are all a huge source of strength and comfort to her.
Fortunately she has completed 2 cycles of Chemo treatment which requires her to be isolated in the hospital room for 2-4 weeks each cycle and go through pints of blood transfusion.
Sanly is in her third (3rd) cycle of Chemo treatment and scheduled to
begin her forth (4th) Chemotherapy treatments after mid June, which
will hopefully
alleviate the pain she is having to endure day in and day out. We
covet your prayers during this difficult time.
While living in the hospital, we must provide for living expenses both
in Seremban and
in Kuala Lumpur. While the insurance was adequate for her first
treatment and paid cash for her second treatment, it does not cover her
remaining 4-5 cycles of Chemotherapy treatments 藥物化療, possible bone
marrow transplant 骨髓移植 and living
expenses during the next months. After that she will need to be on medication 药
物治疗for the next 2-3 years.
