From Coast to Coast

God plopped some new stuff into our laps. He tends to do that. But this one’s big! 

We’ve been asking him for months what to do with our lives and which direction to go, and He recently revealed to us the next step He wants us to take. He laid it on our hearts to live a simple life, serve others and commit ourselves to God’s cause. 

We are excited to announce that we are going to become Houseparents and take care of orphans and foster kids. Most people in our area are not familiar with the term ‘houseparents’, so here is our definition of it:

Houseparents describes a married couple who dedicate their lives to raising and caring for kids from different backgrounds. The couple lives in a big house with up to 12 kids and does all the duties a ‘normal’ parent would do. So that means our family is about to expand rapidly! :)

After searching and researching this type of ministry for a  couple of months God has lead us to a beautiful place called “Kennedy Home” in Kinston, North Carolina. We had the privilege of spending about 5 days with them and getting to know the kids, the other houseparents and staff that live on site. We were able to travel and explore North Carolina and ultimately fall in love with the area and its people (and the food).  

At the end of our 5 days we were thrilled to have been offered the position. 

So here we are, ready to pack up our stuff, move across the country and begin a missionary life. 

Unfortunately, moving all the way to the east coast is rather expensive and we are counting on God to provide every penny. We know He will. He always does, doesn’t He? We also know that God uses people to bring his plan into fruition. So we would like to ask for your financial support as we are in need of at least $8000 to make this move happen and survive for a month until we start getting paid and replace some of the furniture that we had to give up on our last move. 

We also would appreciate your prayer support, as none of this will be possible without God sustaining and guiding us.

Please pray that God would use us as a family, as husband and wife and as individuals to love on the children that need it most. Please pray that Zachy will learn and develop a passion for the mission field as he watches his parents serve God day in and day out. 

Also please pray that God would sustain and strengthen our marriage in this process, that we will be able to resist the attacks of the enemy and continually yield ourselves, our marriage and our family to Him.
