My name is Leanne Smith, I live in MIlaca MN, and I am Sandy's niece. I set up this page to help raise money for her and her family as they battle this awful cancer. Our goal is to reduce the financial worry for her and her family. Money raised will be used for medical bills, household expenses, and any other needs they may have during this journey as both she and Paul are not able to work at the moment.
Here is Sandys journey so far:

My name is Sandy Fenlason. I have been fighting breast cancer since April 2016. I found a lump in my breast and saw my doctor who performed a biopsy. I was diagnosed triple negative breast cancer, a very aggressive form. It had already spread to my lymph nodes.
I started chemo and went though all the treatments, lost my hair. Then had a double mastectomy the first part of December 2016. Even though only my left was affected. They biopsied the tumor and found it to be both triple negative and her2 positive. They said the margins were good and they got it all. Radiation for 28 treatments started in January 2017. Finished in February. Doctors said I was cancer free. Then, in early March I had a dime size rash on my right chest. I thought it was shingles. My doctor ordered a biopsy and found it was breast cancer at the tissue level. So, I started chemo again and lost my hair for the second time. We tried I don’t know how many different chemo drugs. Nothing was working. The one that did work caused a side affect that my lungs clouded up and I couldn’t breathe. Another month or two another PET scan another place in my body the cancer appeared. Tumor on my spine, radiate just enough to keep it from paralyzing me. Tumor on my brain, go to the University of Minnesota for gamma knife radiation and found 7 tumors. One month later found 5 tumors on my brain and treated them. Now a tumor has grown in my lung making it very difficult to breath. Was in the hospital twice for lung issues. The last time in March 2018 they drained a liter of fluid off my left lung. Through it all my husband hasn’t missed a chemo treatment or a doctors appointment. We both missed a lot of work and have some doctor and pharmacy bills. I can no longer work and need to have someone care for my everyday needs. I am terminal, the doctor says 4-6 weeks if the new chemo doesn’t work. Maybe a few months if it does. I I have a 16 year old daughter and a 20 year old son whose going to college in Duluth. I believe God is going to heal me! It maybe here on earth or when I get to heaven. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior without my faith I would be without hope.
