UPDATE: Yesterday marked 2 weeks since the accident. Although everyone involved is getting better each day (praise God), they still have a LONG, hard road ahead of them. ANY donation can help and thank you to ALL who have already donated. Please continue to PRAY and SHARE this please!!! Marae is now home and Alexis is back at school, Cody is still in the hospital but doing better.

UPDATE: Cody and Marae are still in the hospital. Cody is now in stable condition! He can breathe on his own, but they are keeping him on the ventilator to help his body rest. They were able to do surgery on his leg and he was able to respond to some verbal commands. Marae is working with the physical therapist and getting better everyday. Alexis is still very sore and her foot is still hurting. Keep the prayers coming and keep sharing! Thank you to everyone who has donated, it has been a blessing!

On Wednesday night October 4th, 2017 three teenagers were in a horrific accident on North Jefferson St. in Milledgeville, GA. Marea (pictured left), Cody (middle), and Alexis (pictured right) experienced something no teenagers should ever have too. Cody and Alexis' mom is a great friend of mine and co-worker at the GMC Bookstore. I have known this family for 4+ years and I love them dearly. The 3 were leaving Anslee's house around 8 p.m. that evening. North Jefferson St. is a busy road by itself, but that evening two younger boys decided they were going to race each other going 60+ mph down North Jefferson St. Cody was driving, Marea was in the passenger seat, and Alexis was sitting in the back right behind Cody. They pull out the driveway turning left to go pick up a friend, but as they were almost across the road and car nailed them on the driver’s side. Anslee and her mom hear the crash and ran outside to see what no mother should ever have to see. They were able to get Alexis and Marea out the car, but the police had to get Cody out the car with the Jaws of Life. They transported Alexis to Oconee Regional Medical Center, but Cody and Marea were airlifted to the Medical Center in Macon. Thankfully, Alexis was able to leave that night with only a hurt foot, sore body, and knot on her head. Marea is currently still in the hospital and is responding but is having trouble feeling her legs. Cody, on the other hand, is in critical condition. He has a skull fracture, brain bleed, broken leg, and a busted up face. Anslee and her husband are unable to work at the moment and their medical bills are going to be outrageous. The last thing they need is to be stressed about money. I am asking that our community come together and help this family in their time of need. They need mostly prayer right now, but anything will help. ALL money will go to them to help with food, bills, transportation, etc.
