This GoFundMe is directly for myself and my 4 children as we start over!! On September 14, 2018 around 9:30pm, my neighbor's tree snapped from Tropical Storm Florence and landed in my rental house in Rock Hill, SC. My 4 children and I were home at the time- youngest, was in the living room when it happened. The tree limb also went through my daughter's room just above her head knocking a picture off her wall that hit her in the head. The living room and front of the house are destroyed and the rain is filling the house. The house's roof structure is unsound and the ceiling is crumbling from water. We have to find a new home now and will experience large financial burden in the upcoming weeks. Please consider helping my family out! These funds will go to a new move-in deposit/first months rent, replacing our living room items, moving costs, replacing winter clothes lost, and restocking food in our house for me and my children. Hopefully providing a small cushion of comfort as we start over after losing our house.
I am a senior at Winthrop University in the Social Work Department and the current Bachelors of Social Work Club President. My children attend Richmond Drive ES, Sullivan MS, and South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, SC. I work full time and am a single mother. My job has put us up in a hotel for a week but after that, there is vast unknown after 9/26/18. Red Cross reached out and 3 days later told me there was nothing they were approved or authorized to provide me outside of referrals and if I wanted any help I needed to go to a homeless shelter (food banks, etc). FEMA did not declare this area so I cannot utilize those resources either!
I do not know necessarily what tangible items I need yet but am open to gift cards of any tender or store. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! My children and I thank you! **All donations will go directly to us!**
