Entre el 15 y el 16 de noviembre, el huracán Iota, de categoría 5, pasó por el Archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina (Colombia), dejándola en un estado alarmante. El ojo del huracán impactó de lleno a Providencia y a Santa Catalina, que quedó incomunicada por más de 14 horas. Cuando se tuvo comunicación, se informó que el 98% de la infraestructura de la isla de Providencia quedó dañada. Asimismo, Santa Catalina quedó en pérdida total. Providencia es una isla de 17 kilómetros cuadrados, que tiene aproximadamente 5.000 habitantes. Es decir, gran porcentaje de esa población ahora en este momento no tiene casa y tampoco tiene la opción de ir a un refugio porque, como dije, la pérdida en infraestructura es casi del 100%.
Entonces, imagínate que te acuestas con casa y al día siguiente nada de lo que tenías existe, ni siquiera un hospital al cual acudir. Por esta razón, creo esta recaudación para que ayudemos desde Europa a esta población. Yo misma me encargaré de hacer llegar las donaciones a la fundación Pro Archipiélago (Instagram: @proarchipielago ), que en este momento se encuentran recibiendo donaciones en Colombia.

Between 15 and 16 November, the category 5 hurricane Iota passed through the Archipelago of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina (Colombia), leaving it in an alarming state. The eye of the hurricane hit Providencia and Santa Catalina, which was cut off for more than 14 hours. When communication was established, it was reported that 98 per cent of Providencia Island's infrastructure was damaged. Likewise, Santa Catalina was left in total loss. Providencia is a 17 square kilometre island with approximately 5,000 inhabitants. That is, a large percentage of that population now has no home and no option to go to a shelter because, as I said, the loss in infrastructure is almost 100%.
So, imagine that you go to bed with a house and the next day nothing of what you had exists, not even a hospital to go to. For this reason, I create this collection so that we can help this population from Europe.
