Samwel - Maasai Medical Student

I set up this GoFundMe-Page to support Samwel in his dream to become an Medical Officer in Tanzania.
I met Samwel during the time when his university was closed due to Covid-19. He volunteered at Wasso Hospital at that time, which is close to his home, a remote maasai village at the border to Kenya.
He was thrilled to join Flying Medical Service on our outreach clinics every two weeks to provide Medical Health Care to his people, his tribe, in very remote areas.
In Tanzania there are only very few Maasai doctors.
That means most of the doctors don't speak Maa and also don't know much about their culture.
And all of a sudden there comes this smart, empathetic and very talented Maasai clinical officer with a great sense of humor who speaks their language and understands their culture. We immediately saw a higher number of patients! What a gamechanger!
In august Samwel went back to his university in Mwanza where he successfully finished his studies as a clinical officer.
To become an Medical Officer Samwel has to study 4 more years. As he is from a average maasai family, there is no way that his family can afford the yearly school fees of 2500EUR.
Therefore I decided to set up this page.
Tanzania needs doctors and especially MAASAI DOCTORS! Tanzania needs Samwel!
I would love to raise 3500EUR to contribute to his school fees and living expenses for the first year. Your donations will not only make a significant impact on Samwel in his schooling, but will impact every future patient that he will treat.
