Sam's French 257 trip to France

Donation protected
Bonjour!

So, as most of you know, I'm back in school majoring in humanities, with a minor in French! By the end of this semester I will have completed two semesters of French classes, and am doing very well in them! I am planning on taking a third course this summer, French 257, which includes an intensive trip to Paris and some of the outlying small French towns with my professor and class to further hone in my skills!

I got a copy of the syllabus finally this morning from my professor, which reads as follows.

"To provide students with first-hand experience of French language and culture through course work, guided assignments, and travel. This course is an intensive study of one or more specialized interests in literature, language, and/or culture. Topics will be selected by the discipline. Those students planning to transfer and use this course as an elective for a French major or minor will be expected to do their coursework in French. Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

*Demonstrate first-hand knowledge of French culture and life
*Contextualize their experiences through journal entries and directed discussion
*Utilize their French speaking, listening, and reading skills
*Navigate a French City
*Apply their skills in everyday situations
*Visit cultural centers such as historic monuments and important museums for francophone and world culture.
*Develop a project focused on an event or place at our destination
*Present an aspect of francophone culture to our group while at our destination
*Contribute media materials for an after travel project once the students have returned

Students for this course will work with the instructor to develop a project, presentation, journal and media project for the course. Students will be evaluated on their ability to represent accurately francophone culture in their materials and demonstrate how their first-hand experiences have contributed to their project. Students will also be expected to participate in daily activities such as leading the group, finding out particular information, discussion, and other related activity."

This is the trip of a lifetime guys. I could never hope for a better opportunity or something better to put on my resume than the completion of this class. I am thrilled to bursting with the life possibilities completing this course will offer me.

My first payment, however is due at the end of this month, February. I need to come up with at least $900 by the end of the month, to a total of $2000 come the beginning of May.

And that's where I'm hoping beyond hope, that you who all love me, will come together and help make this huge dream a reality. Every little bit counts! So if you have the option or ability, please consider helping me as much as you are able, to do something that without my loved ones, I may not be able to. Also please feel free to share this post with as many places or people as you are willing to! the more the word gets out I'm trying to do this, the better! Thank you for you time to read this and your help!
