Sammy and Angel Gayle were looking forward to spending the holidays with their family in Mt. Holly, NC. They were loving parents of 2 grown daughters, Erica and Lindsay, and one granddaughter, Addison. They were also faithful members of Thrift Baptist Church.
Several years ago they felt called to foster 3 young siblings from a very tough home. Though it was complicated and difficult, Sammy and Angel continued to say 'YES' and adopted all 3 siblings to give them a stable and loving home. Ally, Zach, and Noah have been given a chance to prosper in spite of the wounds and traumas of their past, thanks to the unconditional love from Sammy and Angel.
On Dec 8, Angel went into the hospital for a fairly routine surgery, but tragically, there were complications and she passed away unexpectedly. She leaves behind her husband, 2 daughters and granddaughter, and the 3 newest additions, Ally (9), Zach (10), and Noah (11). She loved the Lord and her family above all, loved the beach, and was a big Carolina Panthers fan. Everyone who loved her will miss her greatly, and will remember her in their hearts.
As Sammy grieves and determines how to manage working full-time for Coca-Cola and raising 3 young children on his own, any extra funds would lift a tremendous burden off his shoulders. The kids require lots of individual attention as they each struggle with issues related to the abuse and neglect they've experienced. Now with their adopted family, they have to deal with the tremendous loss of Angel, who was truly an "angel" to them.
