My Sammy boy has been beside me since the day he was born( I literally delivered him ).He is the sweetest and most playful soul on this earth. To me he is everything...he is a huge part of my heart.
In the past couple of weeks he has lost weight rapidly and is finding it harder to breathe. It happened in an instant. One day he is playing for hours and then he is barely walking.
So we finally got the diagnosis of type b lymphoma. It is a fatal cancer and spreads rapidly if not treated. With the chemotherapy he could potentially resume his healthy condition for six months to a year or in some cases go into remission...which is not an uncommon result.
I am not going to lose my Sammy boy,my best friend ,without a fight! It is my job to fight for him,to care for him and to get him through this.
There are several options of chemotherapy for dogs with lymphoma. I have selected a less intense regimen and set of drugs that will treat him for the next six months. Chemotherapy for dogs does not bring along with it the horrible side effects as it does for us/humans. We could see improvement in as little as a week.
Treatment ,medication ,exams and tests are estimated at up to $6,000. Just getting to were we are now has been $3,000. I have rarely asked anybody for a thing in my life. This is an absolute shot in the dark to help my sweet Sammy boy. I am opening this fund for my best friend. I/We will fight for his life. Please help us fight this. Thank you.
