This week Sam was diagnosed with Anaplastic large cell lymphoma. This is an aggressive form of cancer that requires a lot of immediate treatment. Sam was experiencing back and stomach pains since around Thanksgiving, going to multiple doctors and the emergency room. She was told that she had severe constipation; knowing something else was wrong we went to the emergency room again and they did a CT Scan. They immediately saw the cancerous lymph nodes that are taking over her entire abdomen. Since then she was transferred to CHOP and has undergone many tests and procedures. The most recent being her port placement in order to start chemo treatments. Sam's first dose of chemo will be during her lumbar puncture, through her spinal cord 1/24/18; she's scared about losing her hair. Sam is the most courageous, determined, confident, enthusiastic, optimistic, honest and passionate person we know. She brings smiles and life to everyone around her. There is nothing this girl can’t accomplish in world when she puts her mind to it. Please help us during this time; if you know Samantha you know that it is almost impossible to imagine her in this situation, she is in constant unbearable pain, but she is fighting and will conquer this disease.
