Sammy & Barbara Woods
On October 9th 6pm Hurricane Delta’s strong wind gusts uprooted an Oak tree onto Sammy & Barbara Woods’ Watson Home. Just minutes before they had walked outside to move some of their plants into the shed. The tree hit their shed, awning, car, & home. As the awning came down it crashed around our Maw Maw - she has bruising & is very sore but is otherwise fine. Our Paw Paw was behind her - he never heard the tree fall. He was hit in the head and pinned beneath the tree. Their neighbors came immediately and LPSO, the fire department, & Acadian were soon on site. Our Paw Paw was under the tree, in the rain for over an hour....but he was talking! Their neighbor, Dave, was the first on site and said Paw Paw was very calm a and he only wanted to know that my Maw Maw was okay - as he usually is! He was taken to OLOL and admitted to their trauma ICU. At this time we know he has a fractured pelvis & foot. He also had to have to 27 stitches/staples in his head.
We would like to thank everyone for your prayers. Between three daughters, 11 grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren there are generations of people who know and love Sammy and Barbara Woods. Please keep them in your prayers!

We would like to thank the first responders who worked tirelessly to get him out & safely to the hospital.
We would like to thank OLOL for their care....again. If you could send him home to us again we’d appreciate it!
We would like to thank the East Louisiana Baptist Association Disaster Relief Unit for coming to their home & helping us take care of their house.
And finally we’d like to thank all of our friends and family for your prayers - they are all appreciated.
The donations will help my Grandparents with their expenses.
Update: I initially set the goal at the minimum of $1000 - I updated it to $5800 ($100 for each year of their marriage). We are appreciative of anything that can be given to them. And of course - keep praying for them. We love you all.
