Sam Needs a Midwife - Help Fund His Care!
Hey there! I'm Hollis, a queer doula in Dallas helping my client Sam raise funds for midwifery care.
Sam McKallan is trans and is about 20 weeks pregnant! He found a midwife he really likes who is queer and offers trans-informed care. Due to extreme pregnancy nausea, his hours were drastically cut at work and he was forced to quit. The out-of-pocket cost of a midwife, even on a sliding scale, is well out of Sam's reach.
I've started this fundraiser at the bare minimum of $3,500, which covers his midwifery care from prenatal through birth (and I'm working with him free of charge). I'd love to reach $5k to cover any travel expenses, as well as baby-related items and postpartum care items, as we all know these can be spendy. Midwives book up quickly, so hopfully we can raise this in a timely manner to make sure he can get on this midwife's books ASAP.
A little more about Sam:
Sam is passionate about writing, and is working on a fantasy novel! He's currently taking a class in Python and seeking a job in IT. He's eager to finally get to see his baby on a sonogram (we're working on insurance as well), and is finally feeling them move around inside!
