SAM Labs' Scholarship Fund

For some families, the cost of summer camp is a barrier for summer learning opportunities. We at SAM Labs value diversity, equity, and inclusion and ensuring all students have access to a high quality STEAM and coding education.

We would like to provide a summer camp opportunity to low income students at Title I schools who might not normally have access to summer learning programs simply because they can’t afford to participate. Our vision at SAM Labs is to inspire generations of problem solvers. This vision includes all students - regardless of where they might live or the economic status of their family. The future of both our economy and society lie in the STEM and tech fields, yet true diversity and inclusion is falling short. All students deserve the opportunity to develop an interest in STEM and coding from a young age so that they can cultivate a lifelong passion for education and careers beyond the school system.

Each week of our Virtual Summer Camp  will have a maximum of 80 students (split across 4 grade-level groupings) for a total of 480 students over the course of six weeks. We are hoping to provide scholarships for a minimum of 100 students (20 students per week- over the six week summer camp sessions). The cost for one student to attend is $250 and includes SAM Labs hardware, software, and over 15 hours of instruction provided by our certified teachers. Our education team has been working tirelessly to create camp-themed and standards-aligned STEAM and coding lessons to bring the camping experience to life. 

Any donation, large or small, will have a meaningful impact on educating an inclusive and diverse generation of problem solvers. Businesses who donate >$1,000 will be included on our website with their logos as a sign of solidarity.  As a company, we have pledged to cover the cost of these 100 students if our donations fall short. 

SAM Labs  is an edtech company whose vision is to inspire generations of problem solvers by providing educators with the tools, mindset, and know-how to reach learners’ potential for computational thinking. Our goal at SAM Labs is to provide engaging learning experiences that teach students how to code and promote computational thinking skills so that they are better prepared for the future. Our STEAM and coding curriculums rely on special hardware, software, and lessons that teach K-8 students programming fundamentals in an engaging, hands-on manner. With your help, we hope to inspire an inclusive generation of problem solvers.
