Salvemos a mi Mamá /Hope for Estela

Nos encontramos en una situación muy difícil y dolorosa. A mi Mamá le encontraron lesiones tumorales en el cerebro y hay que tratarla inmediatamente. Tu aporte y difusión son muy importantes para ayudarla.

Mi nombre es Iskra Osorio y soy venezolana. La familia de mi novio (los Kilzi) está apoyándonos en la organización de esta campaña y Hofig Kilzi nos hará llegar los fondos.

Mi Mamá, Estela, siempre ha sido de actitud joven, enérgica, alegre y muy sociable. Hace unas cuatro semanas notamos cambios en ella que nos preocuparon mucho: comenzó a sentirse nerviosa y desorientada, a tener desmayos y finalmente dificultades para hablar y caminar. A medida que los especialistas (psicólogo, psiquiatra, neurólogo y neurocirujano) intentaban dar con la causa, los síntomas se iban agravando aceleradamente, y hace 6 días recibimos el primer diagnóstico certero: mi Mamá tiene formaciones tumorales en el cerebro y debemos actuar lo antes posible.

La rapidez es fundamental para que estas formaciones no sigan avanzando. Los médicos tienen que determinar el tipo de lesión antes de indicar un tratamiento y solamente las primeras pruebas, que incluyen una biopsia craneal por estereotaxia, ascienden a US$4000 en una de las pocas clínicas de Caracas que cuenta con equipos para hacerla. Esto es apenas el diagnóstico, sin contar todo lo que hará falta para tratarla (cirugía, hospitalización, radioterapia o quimioterapia, etc.), que se ha previsto en una cantidad que ronda los US$50.000.

Debido a la crisis económica de Venezuela, las coberturas de los seguros médicos se han hecho insignificantes; y estas sumas sobrepasan enormemente nuestras posibilidades familiares. Por eso hemos creado esta campaña.

My mother, Estela, has always been young, energetic, cheerful and with a very sociable attitude. Four weeks ago we noticed changes in her that worried us very much: she began to feel nervous and disoriented, had blackouts and difficulties walking and talking. As the specialists (psychologist, psychiatrist, neurologist and neurosurgeon) tried to find the cause, the symptoms were worsening rapidly, and 6 days ago we received the first accurate diagnosis: my Mom has tumor formations in the brain and we must act as soon as possible .

Speed is essential for these formations not to go further. Physicians must determine the type of tumor before prescribing a treatment and only the first tests, which include a Cranial Stereotactic Biopsy, amounted to US$4000 in one of the few clinics in Caracas that has the equipment to make it. This is just the diagnosis, not to mention everything we will need to treat it (surgery, hospitalization, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, etc.), which is estimated close to $50,000.

Due to the Venezuela's economic crisis , health insurance coverage has become insignificant; and these amounts greatly exceed our family means. That is why we are in need of creating this campaign.
