Vamos Salvar os Sobreiros

A presente campanha visa financiar a ação legal que um grupo de cidadãos independentes está a mover contra o Estado Português, tendo como objetivos a suspensão e revogação do despacho que autorizou a EDP a abater 1.821 sobreiros (estima-se que sejam mais) nos terrenos do futuro Parque Eólico de Morgavel, em Sines, Portugal.

A campanha teve uma primeira fase com um valor-objetivo de 5.000 €, num total de 20.000 € necessários para custear os honorários dos advogados, as despesas de deslocação (e outras), e as custas do processo (em 1ª instância).

Até ao final de 2023, a campanha angariou um total de 8.458 €, dos quais 5.858 € via crowdfunding e 2.600 € em apoios diretos. Com este montante, conseguimos dar entrada da providência cautelar que travou de imediato (e por 3 meses) o abate dos sobreiros de Morgavel – e (um mês depois), da ação principal, que agora decorre em tribunal.

Em 2024, atualizamos o nosso valor-objetivo para 10.000 €, tendo em conta os gastos já tidos (vê aqui o status a 8.12.2023) e as novas necessidades que perspetivamos (vê aqui o plano para 2024).

This campaign aims to finance the legal action that a group of independent citizens is taking against the Portuguese State, with the objective of suspending and revoking the order that authorized EDP to cut down 1,821 cork oaks (it is estimated that there are more) on the land of the future Morgavel Wind Farm in Sines, Portugal.

The campaign had a first phase with a target value of €5,000, out of a total of €20,000 needed to cover lawyers' fees, travel (and other) expenses and the costs of the legal case (in first instance).

By the end of 2023, the campaign had raised a total of €8,458, of which €5,858 via crowdfunding and €2,600 in direct support. With this amount, we were able to file the injunction that immediately (and for 3 months) stopped the cutting of the Morgavel cork oaks - and (a month later), the main lawsuit, which is now running in court.

In 2024, we updated our target value to €10,000, taking into account the expenses already incurred (see the status report on 8.12.2023 here) and the new needs we foresee (see the plan for 2024 here).

We remind you that GoFundMe fees are 3.1%, so for large contributions we still recommend direct bank transfer to the account of the cooperative REGENERATIVA, one of the many organizations supporting this cause and which will continue to ensure the accounting management of this campaign.
