We all know that the last few weeks have been tough on us all, old ‘Rona’ sure has thrown some spanners in the works with life as we have known it. It has been especially hard for a big hearted kind family in our small community. Lio & Sepa are known as the fun loving, generous family that hit Cloncurry with a bang and have bought smiles to many of our faces. Lio being the big, burly security guard and resident DJ at the Liechhardt and Sepa being the dancing queen at the pub by night and the responsible school office lady by day. They have 3 kids, Nika, Kayden and Tahlia who all attend Cloncurry State School. When news of Covid 19 hit, the family had to self isolate straight away as their son Kayden has chronic lung disease and life threatening asthma due to being born prematurely at 24 weeks.
Mothers Day didnt quite go to plan for the family, as Sepa presented to the hospital and was swiftly given a chopper ride to Isa with a suspected appendicitis, which turned into emergency surgery to remove her appendix, full hysterectomy and partial bowel removal. She was very keen to get home to her family and rest, but unfortunately after some complications she has ended up back in ICU in Mt Isa with a possible recovery time of up to 6 weeks.
With the crazy times that we are living in, Lio has had very little work whilst the pubs are shut and has taken on all of the homeschooling and day to day running of the household while Sepa is recovering and Sepa has used all of her allocated leave whilst in lockdown.
So many people have expressed a desire to help this wonderful family, of course they would never as for it so perhaps you might be able to throw a few dollars their way to lighten the burden of worry and allow them to focus purely on Sepa’s recovery and getting through this trying time. I know that Sepa and Lio would do the same for many of us and they would be incredibly appreciative of any form of help. Any funds raised will be directly given to the family to assist in the payment of day to day living expenses.
