Saint John Newcomers Centre Scholarship Fund

Every year the Saint John Newcomer Centre offers two $1,000 scholarships to newcomers in Greater Saint John. This year our fundraising efforts have come to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

In order to help newcomers pursue post-secondary education, we need the help of the community more than ever.

This scholarship is only made possible through community and partner donations. The scholarship will be awarded to 2 candidates who are applying to attend a college or university in the fall or at an alternative date due to the pandemic. 

The first scholarship is awarded to a newcomer pursuing post-secondary education in the Greater Saint John region. 

The second scholarship is awarded to a francophone newcomer pursuing post-secondary education at a francophone university in the province of New Brunswick. 

All applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance, are required to provide the Saint John Newcomers Centre with proof of enrollment into a post-secondary institution, currently live in the Greater Saint John region, for more information on requirements visit:

Chaque année, le Centre de nouveaux arrivants de Saint Jean offre 2 bourses d'études de $1,000 aux nouveaux arrivants du Grand Saint-Jean. Cette année, la pandémie du COVID-19 a mis une barrière à nos efforts.

Dans le but d'aider les nouveaux arrivants à poursuivre leurs études postsecondaires, nous avons besoin de l'aide de la communauté plus que jamais.

Cette bourse d'études n'a été pas rendue possible sans les dons de la communauté et de nos partenaires. La bourse d'études sera offerte à deux candidats qui s'inscrivent à un collège ou une université cet automne ou à une autre date en raison de la pandémie.

La première bourse d'études sera donnée à un nouvel arrivant qui va poursuivre ses études postsecondaires dans le Grand Saint-Jean.

La deuxième bourse sera donnée à un nouvel arrivant francophone qui poursuit ses études dans une université francophone au Nouveau-Brunswick.

Tous les candidats doivent prouver leur besoin en assistance financière, doivent démontrer une preuve d'inscription à un établissement postsecondaire au Centre de nouveaux arrivants, et doivent habiter actuellement dans la région du Grand Saint-Jean.
