Quincey and Mitchell have been talking, day-dreaming, and planning for their own adventure and sailing business for years. 2018 is the year we go for it!!
Disclamer! Being in front of the video camera is a new experience for us. Mitch isn't usually stiff as a board and certainly has more personality than is conveyed here :) It's also very nerve racking asking for money! We look forward to more video-making experiences as we document our adventure to share with you!
QM Travels will be a bespoke and intimate sailing charter company, offering day sails and 10-15 day trips aboard our sailboat in beautiful locations around the world. We want to provide exceptional adventures that allow our guests to fully engage in their own experience. Mitch is a professional sailor and U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain, and Quincey is a holistic nutritionist. Together, we will combine our great passions of sailing, travel, and eating delicious food!
We strive to create a life that is in-tune with the rhythms of nature rather then working against it. The planet desperately needs more eco-friendly lifestyles and means of traveling, and we believe there is no better (or exciting!) way than by sailboat! Sailing is one of the most efficient and low-impact means of travel, and it can take us to some remarkable places! We will also dedicate time and energy to citizen science, and will do our part to minimize plastic usage and raise awareness of the massive problem our oceans (and entire planet) face.
After a year of searching for the right boat, we have found our Unicorn! A gorgeous Kelly Peterson 46 with the layout and gear we need to run a successful charter business. We will be flying to Panama City in late February to meet with the current owners for a "sea trial" around the San Blas Islands. We will fly back down in late March to take her through the Panama Canal and then north to our home port in San Francisco, CA.
We have the means to buy the boat, but need help with funding her trip back to SF and launching our business there!

The Sunset Charter will have a market price of $125/person and you may be sailing with up to 5 other people. The GoFundMe offer is for two people for a private evening sail and includes dinner cooked by us. This is a really approachable price!
The Day Sail for 6 will have a market price of $200/person. This includes 6-8 hours of sailing with lunch and dinner, finishing after sunset. You'll be saving 60% by helping us out in the early stages!
The Bay Weekend or QM Travels Bay Experience will allow full immersion into the liveabord boat life, complete with all meals for three days sailing and two nights. The market rate will be $1,400 if booked after we get the boat home from Panama.
The Exotic Charter or QM Travels World Experience is offered at 33% less than a typical 10-day charter will cost. In the early fall of 2019 we'll be heading south to warmer latitudes. This is the big picture for Q&M. Come this fall, we'll have a more specific itinerary for 12, 24, and 36 months, allowing you the opportunity to choose and book your ideal charter. Teaser, by November 2019 we'll be in MEXICO! Anyone who buys at this level now will have first dibs of the itinerary once it's published in the fall.
