Singing Never Gets Old!
Many people are aware of the mental and physical health benefits of singing, and this is especially true for elders. Another huge benefit that we have seen with Sage Singers is a strong sense of community for elders who often feel isolated in their later years. GALA Festival will elevate these positive benefits significantly.
It will cost between $1,225 and $1,525 per person to attend the GALA Festival — to cover the cost of registration, airfare, ground transportation, shared hotel room for 6 nights, and meals for 6-7 days. We want to provide financial assistance to those on limited incomes so they can participate with us in next summer’s festival. Please help us accomplish this objective and our fundraising goal of $6,000 for our GALA Scholarship Fund.

Sage Singers, founded in October 2018 and based in Denver, Colorado, is a new chorus for LGBTQ+ elders, the first of its kind in the country that is affiliated with the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA). We now have 50+ singers making beautiful music together, ranging from those who have been singing for decades to some who have never sung in a chorus before.
Every four years GALA hosts an international choral festival for its members. The next festival will be July 4-8, 2020, in Minneapolis, MN, and the GALA staff are planning for over 7,000 singers from around the world!! GALA Festival is the largest LGBTQ cultural event in the world, and it is literally life-changing for many who attend for the first time. Many of our Sage Singers have never been to this festival, so we want all of our elders to be able to experience this amazing festival next summer.
